Dutch drivers will pay less to buy a car but will be charged tax on every mile on the road.

The Dutch government has agreed to charge drivers of an average passenger car a base rate of 0.07 US cents per mile beginning in 2012.

Drivers of heavier, more polluting vehicles will pay more.

The cost will also go up for driving in peak hours.

But the annual road tax and purchase tax for new cars will be abolished, reducing the price of a new car by approximately 25 percent.

Driving will be tracked by GPS and sent back to a central computer.

I think it was timely to generate this new law in transportation. It will be a big help limiting and concisely operating this transport business if this said law will be implemented.
